Endless Ocean for the Wii has got to be hands-down one of the best games, if not THE best game for the Wii. In fact, if you read the reviews from people who own this game, they find that is is set apart from all other games in that it is not really a game to be conquered or challenge you, moreso than it is a game that is supposed to relax you, let you explore, and even educate you. Now, anyone who owns a Wii knows that you do not buy it for the graphics, you buy it for the gameplay and interactivity with the remote and such; however, the graphics in this game and simply stunning. You really feel like you are there, underwater with the animals, or in an abyss where there is no light, so you don’t know which was is up until you breathe, and your bubbles come out.
Even sunlight rays are built into the game’s graphics, and fade gradually as the water gets deeper. Each animal can be interacted with by petting, touching/tapping, grabbing, or feeding it food. The cool thing is that the animals react back to your actions. They turn toward you, or swim away, and each time you interact with them you get more information about them, so it is a learning experience too.
You can also take people on dives, where they request to see certain fish, and you have to find them in the dive area. You can take control of you boat, and pilot it around the area to witness natural events like sharks spawning or watch large schools of fish. I especially like the Wi-Fi feature where you can dive with other friends who also have the game on their Wii. You can explore together and learn together, etc…
That shark may “look” scary, but there is no violence at all in this game, and 0% blood/gore. You do not have to worry about anything eating you, or having to shoot anything (other than using your dive camera for “shooting” photos). Endless Ocean is 100% exploratory.
Did I mention you can train dolphins too by using quick hand gestures with the Wii Remote? I really cannot say enough about good things this game; I could just go on and on. I also read some reviews where people have a long day at work, and just come home straight to theur Wii and play this game. This is coming from 50+ yr olds too, so on top of it being a relaxing game, the controls are super easy. You do not even use the nunchuck at all, just the Wii Remote. I highly recommend this game, especially with other games selling at $50 and this one is only $30. This would make an excellent Christmas gift for anyone you know that owns a Wii.

This game is good. But Endless Ocean 2 is perfect! One of the greatest games of the past years!
