Socialized health care would not be a terrible, country dooming endeavor.
You made the one fatal mistake that all liberals and moderates make when it comes to this debate about health care. Obama is not proposing nationalized health “Care”, he is pushing nationalized health “Insurance”. There are 40million people in the USA who do not have health “Insurance”, yet guess how many of them do not get health “care”…? Less than 1 million of them. The America middle and upper class is already carrying on its back the weight of over 39 million people who CHOOSE to get health care, but do not have insurance. We are supporting them through broken programs like Medicaid, Medicare and frankly all the Social Security Money is going out the window to patch those programs and pay for them as well. Obamacare is just going to put more of a weight on the middle and upper class, and cause doctors to be forced out of business because private insurance companies (i.e. – where their salaries come from) are no longer going to be able to foot the bill. This will cause not only LESS doctors and LESS specialist to be available to the public, but the quality of health care will go WAY down. You look at PSA;s on sites like the ones you posted about people who are sick or need treatments…but in those same articles and advertisments you do not see how health care functions in places like Canada, and Europe. Did you know that if you walk into an ER in Canada with your arm chopped off, you might wait for 6 hours, or a day before anyone sees you. Here in the USA, within 10 minutes of you walking into that hospital, you are admitted, you have no pain, a doctor has been assigned to you, and you are getting treatment and already visiting with your family in your hospital room (if you are conscious that is). THAT is our current system…it is NOT broken! I have health care for my entire family through my job, and I do NOT make a lot of money at all. I am on the second to lowest tax bracket. This health “care” bill is nothing more than a handout for the 40million people who CHOOSE not to get healthcare. You have to keep in mind that when you hear the phrase over and over by the Obama administration, “40 million without health insurance”, they are very careful to say “insurance”, not “care”, because you can be damn sure they are getting care,, at the expense of ME, and the rest of the working class. Frankly we are sick and tired of paying for deadbeats, and Obama wants to turn this nation into a government that takes care and coddles deadbeats! Not me. Get the government out of my life, out of my business and out of my face! Think about it – How do you expect a government that cannot even effectively run a Cash-for-Clunkers program to run health-care for a whole nation…? Are you kidding me?
