One word: WOW.
This concert was awesome. Yes, I am only 26 years old, and yes, it is still awesome! All you uncultured people in your 20′s and teens who say music like Neil Diamond is ‘boring’ need to get a life, and actually try listening to his CDs. For those of you who think you would never like a Neil Diamond son, but still like people like Johnny Cash, Bob Schneider, and other solo/acoustic stuff you should check out “12 Songs”.
“12 Songs” is a solo/acoustic (mostly) album by Neil Diamond, with a lot of good songs, great lyrics, very intimate feeling. Not cheesy/lounge singer music like you may stereotype him as in the past. Granted…the CD that he has sold most of, I think is his worst, “Hot August Night,” and in fact think the one I mentioned earlier is his best. However, that statement will not ring true with most die-hard Neil Diamond fans; they do consider “12 Songs” his worst, which is probably why I like it. I did not grow up with Neil Diamond in my back pocket all the time, so that is probably why his album “12 Songs” is so good to me. You would definitely not think it is Neil Diamond if nobody told you, since it isn’t like his other work.
Anyway, the concert was awesome, he put on a very flash/emotional show, even had video footage, old 8mm, of him when he was a kid rolling on bigscreens when he sang his song about home and growing up. That part was pretty cool. Everyone was holding up their lighters.
Another thing I liked, and tht made it more enjoyable was how humble he was for his audience. He loved his audience, and it went far beyond the typical pandering to the crowd and the current city you are in. He sang an entire two songs, out of his set with his back to 80% of the audience…why? Well, because the people in the cheap seats, behind the stage looking at everyone’s back never get a good view of the artist, so he walked around facing them backstage the entire time for those songs. It was awesome, and he joked about the ‘cheap seats’ (even though the cheapest thing there was about $120 or so)
So all in all, it was a great time. Ok, so I went with my mom, big deal. You should have seen her dancing
Love you mom.

I am so glad that someone your age enjoyed the show as much as someone my age, 58!! Like your mom, I was dancing the whole time. I was actually searching for images of the concert when I found the one you posted. I would love more if you don’t mind sharing. I did not take any pics and regret it. nawo...@yahoo.com
